MTSU in the news

In a recent article in the Statesman Journal, Debra Sells, Vice President for Student Affairs & Vice Provost for Enrollment and Academic Services, talks about the impact that the new Student Services building has had on MTSU’s campus. Branded as a “one stop shop,” Sells says, “the building combines the admissions, financial aid, scheduling, course registration, enrollment and business office functions together under one roof.”

The Student Services building is connected to the Student Center by a pedestrian bridge, and sits adjacent to MTSU’s newest parking garage. The addition of the center on this part of campus has also activated MTSU’s student recruiting initiative. Sells states, “One of the things that I think is terrific about the building is that we’ve built a lot of technology into it so as students are waiting for their tours, they’ll be screens all around the building with information about different campus programs. They’ll be a lot of ways for us to give that student a sense of this campus just from being in this building and seeing what they can do here at MTSU.”

The $16-Million facility was officially opened in March of this year.
