Great Places in America Recognition Event

Tuesday, October 18th at 1pm a Celebration is being held at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park being designated as a 2011 Great Public Space by the American Planning Association. This event will take place at the Bicentennial Mall Court of Three Stars unless inclement weather then it will be held outside of the Visitor Center/ Park Office under the Railroad Trestle off of James Robertson Parkway.

Tuck-Hinton Architects have been invited by TDEC Commissioner Bob Martineau and Tennessee State Parks to attend this event. The Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park was designed by Tuck-Hinton Architects in 1992.

Park Ranger Mike Cole receives the American Planning Association's recognition of Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park as one of the United States' Top 10 Great Public Spaces for 2011 from the APA representative Lisa Milligan on Oct. 18th during a celebration at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park.
